Mangaluru: Four arrested for selling ganja

Mangaluru, Jul 2: Urwa police arrested four persons on the accusation of selling ganja near Urwa Marigudi in the city and confiscated things amounting to Rs 55,000 including 1.5 kg of ganja, four mobile phones and cash.

The arrested accused are identified as Mahesh alias Macha (24), a resident of Urwa Modern Rice Mill area, Ritesh alias Ritu (20), a resident of Bokkapatna road, Sudarshan M alias Sudha (24), a resident of Long Lane Urwa and Ritesh V (21), a resident of Ashoknagar.

Police belonging to Urwa police station in the city conducted a raid on definite information that some people are selling ganja near Urwa Marigudi and arrested the accused. A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) has been registered against the arrested and were produced in the court.

The officer and staff of Urwa police station conducted this operation under the guidance of T R Suresh, police commissioner, DCPs Hanumantharaya and Uma Prashant and Uday Nayak, ACP, central sub-division.
