Udupi: Documentary film ‘Rakthada Anireekshitha Tiruvu’ – a hit on social media

Udupi, Jun 30: Three youths of Subhasnagar here are creating ripples on the social media with a wake-up call to donate blood by directing and acting in a documentary film titled ‘Rakthada Anireekshitha Tiruvu’. This short film was to awaken the society on the necessity of blood donation and is much appreciated by viewers and the social media too.

Rayan Fernandes, a student of Poornaprajna College is the director and story writer, Suchith Kotian, lecturer in MGM College Udupi is the production in-charge and Rayan Mathias, head of the Social Work Department, Milagres College Kallianpur Udupi, assisted in screenplay.



The documentary is also in response to the competition organised by Manipal Hospital (KMC- Blood Bank). It bagged the first place. It was also aired by the local channel of Udupi on the eve of World Blood Donation day and can be viewed in YouTube channel ‘Fragrance of Humanity’.

Fragrance of Humanity was started when Mehek, a little girl, needed financial support for her cancer treatment. The members of the group Rayan Fernandes, Suchith Kotian and Rayan Mathias prepared the documentary to encourage people to donate blood without any inhibition to save lives.

After viewing the short film, many have volunteered to donate blood and some who hitherto respond to donate blood due to fear, superstitious beliefs and misguided judgments, have now come forward to donate blood.

“We need to work for the betterment of the society. Our dream was to spread the message of harmony and to reach out to anyone in need. If we are involved in building a better society, we can work for peaceful and harmonious living. We have been working towards this and will continue this good work,” says Suchith Kotian.
