Udupi, Jun 27: MLA Raghupati Bhat unveiled the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) certificate for Sri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda & Hospital here at Bhavaprakash auditorium on Tuesday, June 26.
Unveiling the certificate, Raghupathi Bhat said, “SDM hospital is one of the best institutions in Udupi. SDM is the second hospital which has received NABH certificate in the district. Just four years ago, KMC Hospital was awarded the certificate. This certificate was started in 2009.
“The hospital gives top priority for the care of patients and treatment for diseases from the very beginning. The hospital received the honour due to its best management with quality service.
“NABH certificate was awarded to SDM Ayurveda Hospital because of its best performance and quality services. Ayurvedic therapy is Indian-based therapy system, an ancient and ever- new, natural and all-time accepted therapy. Now people are going back to Ayurvedic treatment, especially those who experienced side effects of Allopathic treatment. The whole world is attracted to Indian culture today. It will get global recognition slowly and steadily.
“Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Yoga is being practiced all over the world. In the same way, Ayurveda system will get more prominence in future,” he said.
Guest of honour of the programme Dr Muralidhara Sharma, professor, SDMCA, Udupi, said “This certification was possible only due to a collective effort and not by individual work,” he said. He urged for support from all people who work in the institution.
Dr G Shrinivasa Acharya, principal, SDMCA, Udupi presided over the function.
Dinakar Babu, president, zilla panchayat, Udupi, and Dr Mamatha K V, medical head officer, SDMCA, Udupi were present in the programme.
Dr Arun Kumar M and Dr Niveditha Shetty compered the programme.
