Honnavar: Konkani hymn CD 'Naman Ballok Jezu, Fatima Saibini’ released

Honnavar, Jun 23: 'Naman Ballok Jezu, Fatima Saibini’, an audio CD of Konkani hymns rendered by Brazil Gonsalves and Benjamin Miranda was released on the occasion of centenary celebration of Our Lady of Fatima and inauguration of Infant Jesus Shrine at Honnavar on June 20.

The newly constructed shrine was blessed by Fr Dr Derick Fernandes, bishop of Karwar. The entrance door and the new bell were dedicated to Infant Jesus. During the Eucharist, the bishop consecrated the church, which was enlisted to the diocese of Karwar.



During the felicitation programme after the Holy Eucharist, 'Naman Ballok Jezu, Fatima Saibini’ Konkani hymns CD with a brief introduction by Brazil Gonsalves, was released by Bishop Derek Fernandes along with Fr Lancy Rodrigues, the parish priest of the Infant Jesus Church, Prabhat Nagar, Honavar and Fr Alphy D’Silva, former parish priest, Our Lady of Fatima Church, Molkod and others gathered for the church inauguration. The bishop appreciated the work done on the music album. He praised and blessed Brazil Gonsalves and Benjamin Miranda and wished more talents like them to spring up among children and youth of the parish and all other parishes.

The audio CD, 'Naman Ballok Jezu, Fatima Saibini’, is harmonized by Brazil Gonsalves and Benjamin Miranda. The tune, harmony and music have been rendered by Benjamin Miranda. The album has 10 devotional songs along with one Kannada hymn.
