Puttur, Jun 21: Seven students were injured when an auto rickshaw carrying school students toppled at Kolpe petrol bunk on the evening of Wednesday June 20. It is said that the driver unexpectedly lost control over his vehicle which caused this accident.
The auto rickshaw belongs to a person from Golithottu. Students of government higher primary school, Konalu, were travelling to their homes by the three-wheeler. Immediately after the accident, the locals helped in carrying the students to hospital.
President of the school development and monitoring committee, Moideen, who was in Ballari at the time, contacted officials and people's representatives immediately on coming to know of the incident and arranged to provide timely treatment to the injured students. Block education officer from Puttur, Sukanya and people's representatives of Nelyady went to the hospital and took care of the students.
All the injured students have been admitted into private hospitals at Nelyady and Puttur.
