Karkala: Man commits suicide - mother tries to kill self

Karkala, Jun 1: In an incident which happened at Issarmar, Kukkuje Donderangady near Ajekar in the taluk on Wednesday May 30, a woman who was overwhelmed on hearing the news of her son having ended his life, tried to kill herself.

Naveen (22), a coolie living in Issarmar had hanged himself from a tree near his home on Wednesday May 30 evening.
As soon as his mother, Ammu (50) came to know about the death of her son, she too tried to end her life. She was immediately admitted into Manipal Hospital in critical condtion. She is being looked after in intensive care unit of the hospital.

A case relating to this incident was filed in Ajekar police station.
