Bengaluru, May 30: A person driven by lust, who used to become friendly with poor women and those involved with flesh trade and kill them after indulging in sex with them, stands arrested by the personnel of Byadarahalli police station.
The arrested man has been identified as Dorai (45), native of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. He was wanted by the police relating to the murder of an unidentified woman near Byadarahalli on May 20 this year. Byadarahalli police arrested him from his hideout in Tamil Nadu.
After getting suspicion that he had murdered several women in the city and Tamil Nadu, police inspector, K P Satyanarayan, arrested him and after producing him in the court, secured his police custody for seven days.
Dorai had killed his own wife on account of family dispute in 2002. He had been arrested by Tamil Nadu police and sent to jail. He had secured release on bail, came to the city, and settled down in Andhrahalli in the city. He was involved with several criminal activities since long. Several cases of murder, murder attempt, and rape stand registered against him in Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru, and some other places.
Dorai used to work for under-construction buildings. His plan was to befriend poor and destitute women working there. After developing physical relationship with him, he used to kill them in macabre manner and escape, duly ensuring that traces of murder were not left behind. He also used to contact sex workers at Majestic, offer lure of money to them, and take them to the city outskirts. He normally got fully drunk, use the women, and then kill them either by dropping a boulder over their heads or stabbing them with the splinter of the liquor glass.
On the night of May 20 this year, he had killed an unidentified woman in similar fashion. The police said that during investigation, they found out the trace of the murderer on the basis of CCTV footage.
