Bengaluru, May 27: A lady has complained to the deputy commissioner of police (western range) here, stating that three persons who entered the paying guest (PG) accommodation where she stayed, made her unconscious, gang-raped her and recorded the same on video. She also has accused the criminals of posing threat to her.
The lady said that the incident happened at a PG located in Deepanjali Nagar here on March 18 at the instance of the PG Manager, Manjula. She has named her tormentors as Kartik and two others.
"I have been staying in the women's PG at Deepanjali Nagar since the last two years. Manager of the PG, Manjula, had borrowed money and ornaments from me. When I sought them back, she repeatedly sought time. A person named Kartik known to Manjula used to behave indecently with me since several months. On the evening of March 18, Manjula sent Kartik and his two friends to my room. Kartik sprayed some liquid on me as a result of which I lost consciousness. When I got up the next day, I realized that I was gang-raped. Kartik had recorded the rape in his mobile phone and threatened me of uploading the video in social websites if I revealed this incident to anyone else. Although I registered a complaint on May 23 in Byatarayanapura station, they did not take any action. After coming to know that I had approached the police, Kartik and his friends attacked me," the complainant stated.
Deputy commissioner of police, Ravi D Chennannavar, stated that the complaint has been registered and that the assistant commissioner of police concerned has been asked to investigate and bring out the truth.
