Udupi, May 26: S L Bojegoeda JD (S) candidate for the South West Teachers’ constituency, said on Friday, May 25, that BJP failed to respond to the problems of teachers and government employees.
Addressing media here, he said, “BJP failed to respond to the problems of revising wage, revising imaginary wage, providing basic infrastructures, and also improper distribution of text books.
“Is it right to deduct vacation days of PU teachers and assistant teachers? Vacation relaxes their mind. BJP government has put parents and students into trouble by deducting vacation days. JD (S) will protest to condemn the cancellation of new pension scheme also,” he said.
Questioning Shikha, director, department of Pre-University?Education (DPUE), Bojegowda said, “How students will study without text books? Do text books reach every school children? Let them appoint an agency to deliver text books on time. These days, IAS officers make rules without having the knowledge of ground reality. The summer vacation planning was unscientific and IAS officers are imposing additional burden on teachers by posting them on election duty. Before taking any decision, the subject should be discussed in the assembly meeting.
“The department is discriminating between aided and non-aided schools, in terms of providing medical expenses. Non-aided school teachers are not receiving medical allowance.
“If I emerge as a winner, I will work to solve the problems of government employees.
“BJP government has been failed to address the problems of graduates and teachers.
“This time South West Teachers’ and Graduates constituency election is very special as the candidates are contesting from each party (without coalition). I will fight legally for getting the right of election promotion to Teachers’ constituency candidates,” he said.
Elections will be held at six constituencies namely South West Teachers’ constituency, South Teachers’ constituency, South East Teachers’ constituency, North East Graduates’ constituency, South West Graduates’ constituency and Bengaluru Graduates’ constituency on June 8.
Arun Kumar, JD (S) candidate of South West Graduates’ constituency, Yogish Shetty, district president of JD (S) Udupi and Shekhar Kotian were present.
