Udupi, May 11: District JD (S) president Yogish V Shetty, Udupi assembly constituency JD (S) candidate Gangadhar Shetty, Shalini Shetty and few party workers carried out a road show from Jodukatte to the city on Thursday, May 10.

Speaking to daijiworld Yogish Shetty said, “We are contesting from 4 constituencies in Udupi district i.e. Byndoor, Udupi, Kundapura and Kaup. We have given one of our seats in Karkala to BSP who in turn will support us in other 4 constituencies in which we are competing.”

He also said that people have rejected the other two national parties in Udupi and hence they have chosen Gangadhar Shetty as JD (S) candidate who is a social worker. “We have people’s blessings,” he said.

“To be clear, we all know that both the national parties have ruled Udupi but when we ponder upon what they have done, it is nothing. There is no IT park, nor have they done anything about unemployment prevailing in the district. We have so much to do in the field of tourism, but sadly even that has not been developed. There is no government engineering college or medical college in the district. There is no permanent solution for drinking water problems. All these problems will be solved once our party president Kumarswamy becomes chief minister. Lots of plans had been sanctioned during our tenure earlier.

“Our manifesto has plans for fishermen, farmers, women and widows which shall be fulfilled once Kumarswamy becomes the chief minister,” he said.
