Kundapur, May 9: “I have provided all the necessary basic facilities in the constituency. MLAs from various constituencies are saying that they have facilitated development of thousands of crores. In fact they have added Anna Bhagya, NH Basava shelter scheme, construction of school classrooms, construction of Anganwadi building, distribution of bicycles for school children and other things. If schemes are added in similar way, the Varahi project in my constituency alone is worth Rs 500 crore. I have mentioned only the details of works implemented out of MLA funds. Rs 48,269.32 lac worth development work has been completed,” said Kundapur BJP candidate Haladi Srinivas Shetty.
He was speaking in a news conference held in Kundapur BJP office. “Ordinary people do not say that development has not taken place. I have responded to the problems of people in the constituency. Those who say that there was no development do not know the village,” he said.
“The margin of winning votes will be more this time when compared to last time. I have provided equal justice to the people.” Responding to the question of reporters regarding dissatisfaction of BJP people, he said the party elders have called and spoken to those who were unhappy. “The differences are not grave enough to cause cracks. We will know who becomes desperate on May 15,” he said.
Answering a query on why former MP Jayaprakash Hegde has not involved in campaigning, Haladi Srinivas Shetty said that he has contacted Hegde over the phone. “He wished me the best to do well,” he said.
Vidhana parishad member Kota Srinivas Poojary said that they are in the last leg of campaign. “There is excellent atmosphere in all the five constituencies in the district. I am confident of victory in all of them. The personal charisma of Haladi in Kundapur, Modi wave and other factors favourable to BJP will make us win. We will secure 150 seats in the state and come to power,” he said.
State executive member Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Kundapur mandala president Suresh Shetty Kadoor, zilla panchayat member Raghavendra Kanchan, Pratap Hegde Marali, Laxmi Manju Billava, Srilatha Suresh Shetty, Supritha Kulal, Mandala chief secretary Bhasker Billava, Shanker Ankadakatte, party leaders Mohandas Shenoy, Sathish Shetty, Bharath Shetty, Manju Billava, Sadananda Balkoor, Yuva morcha president Sathish Poojary, entrepreneur Raghavendra Neramballi and others were present.
