Karwar: Union minister Hegde meets with accident again, escapes unhurt

Karwar, May 8: The car in which union minister, Anant Kumar Hegde, was seated met with accident near Deevagi bridge near Kumta in Uttara Kannada district on Monday May 7. The minister, however, escaped without any injury.

Hegde was moving in his car towards Kumta from Sirsi with his escort vehicle ahead of him. The driver of the Mahindra Scorpio vehicle that was moving in front of the escort vehicle suddenly applied brakes as a result of which the escort vehicle hit it from behind. The car carrying the minister then rammed into the escort vehicle at considerable speed.

As a result of this accident, the front portion of the minister's care was badly damaged. The minister did not face any danger. The police have registered case against the driver of Scorpio vehicle and begun investigation.

This is second accident involving the minister within a span of one month.

    I read the whole news and hoped the driver's name is not mentioned. There was huge cry of conspiracy just because of the name of the driver last time.

    One more interesting thing is if escort vehicle rammed the Scorpio from behind and Minister's car hits the escort vehicle from behind, why is the case filed against the Scorpio.?? Fault is from the drivers of the vehicles who could not stop thier vehicles from ramming into the vehicles in front of them.
