Mangaluru, May 7: National spokesperson of AICC and former union minister R P N Singh on Monday, May 7, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mangaluru nothing more than an attack on Rahul Gandhi and his family.
Addressing media, he said, "In his 45 minute-minute speech, he spoke about development and issues faced by people for just five minutes. He never spoke about the promises he made in the last election. Instead, he added a few more lies and left. He saw written notes at least 25 times.
"Modi has been campaigning around the state without any proper agenda or issue. We seek votes on the basis of development and issues of people. But Modi tries to glorify himself and repeats his old lies.
"Before the Lok Sabha elections, Modi said that if he becomes the PM, India will gain complete grip over Pakistan and China. But after becoming the PM, he forgot his words. Highest ceasefire violations took place in Modi’s term. China captured Doklam. Many of our brave army personnel were martyred. But PM Modi visited Pakistan and China. Without invitation, he went to Pakistan. He does not have any concern about Indian Army. He has started to use army’s name for political gain now.
"BJP says that Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath is their star campaigner in Karnataka. Firstly, Yogi should concentrate on his state and own constituency. Infants lost their life due to shortage of oxygen in his constituency. He made a mockery of farmers by distributing cheques of 50 paisa and one rupee in the name of loan waivers. Safety of women in his state is far behind from all other states in India. So how can he teach Siddharamaiah about development and monitoring law and order? It good if he learns something from the government of Karnataka during his visit and implements the same in UP," he said.
Suresh Shetty, general secretary, Maharashtra Congress committee, Jaiveer Shergill, AICC national spokesperson and others were present.
