Mangaluru, May 6: The members of Indian Dental Association condemned the allegations of corruption against Dr Bharath Shetty, BJP candidate from Mangaluru North constituency.
Dr Shivasharan Shetty from the association in a statement, released in city on Saturday, May 5, said that the unfounded allegations against Dr Bharath Shetty by Congress leader Deviprasad Shetty Belapu are condemnable. “Maligning the name of Dr Bharath Shetty, former principal and doctor is heinous. I strongly condemn it as a member of All India dental council,” he said.
“There are no cases against Dr Bharath Shetty, a respected doctor. Making allegations such as these during elections is an example of desperation. Spoiling the image of Dr Bharath Shetty to benefit Congress party during elections is condemnable,” he added.
“There were allegations of corruption in Tamil Nadu against two doctors in 2013. Therefore, the Mangaluru house of Dr Bharath Shetty was searched. He was only made the witness in the case. No cases were registered against Dr Bharath Shetty,” he informed.
“Dr Bharath Shetty is contemplating legal action against the people who are tarnishing his image. Such hit and run allegations when Dr Bharath Shetty is preparing for social work after receiving popularity is uncalled for. I condemn it,” said Dr Shivasharan.
Dr Bharath Shetty's election agent Sadashiva Aithal, Santhosh Nayak, Sujay Shetty and Devi Prasad were present.
