Mangaluru, May 5: Due to the Assembly polls on May 12 and counting of votes on May 15, liquor will not be available for sale in Dakshina Kannada district, said the circular from the district administration.
The rule applies to all districts in the state and separate circulars are issued from each district.
Starting from 6 pm on May 10 till 6 pm on May 12 all the liquor shops will remain closed. This is due to Assembly election on May 12. As the election commission has extended the polling time by an hour till 7 pm, it may extend the liquor prohibition too till 7 pm.
And again starting from 6 pm on May 14 till midnight of May 15, all liquor outlets will remain closed due to counting of votes.
The prohibition is applicable to all retail and wholesale outlets and bars selling liquor and shops selling toddy.
