Bengaluru, May 5: Relating to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed in the high court (HC) seeking to order fresh probe into denotification of land in the city, the state HC has ordered to serve notices on nine persons. Former chief ministers, B S Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar are among the recipients of this notice.
The case relates to denotification of 14 guntas of land in Lottegollahalli near Ring Road in the city. The high court ordered issuance of emergent notices relating to the petition to former deputy chief minister, R Ashok, Bengaluru Development Authority commissioner, principal secretary in the departments of urban development and revenue, and residents of Lottegollahalli, identified as G Shamanna and Ramaswamy. This order was issued by the vacation division bench on Friday May 4.

Lokayukta investigation had been held in this case earlier, and B report had been submitted. Social activist, G V Atri has, through a PIL filed in the HC, sought order from HC for re-investigating the case.
The PIL has been filed at a time when assembly election process is under way. Interestingly, the HC too has ordered issuance of emergent notices in the case.
