Mangaluru: Will contest in Lok Sabha polls if I don't win assembly elections - Huccha Venkat

Mangaluru, May 4: "If I am defeated at Rajarajeshwari Nagar, it means defeat of truth and defeat of voters. If voters of my constituency defeat me, I will contest for the Lok Sabha from Mandya. On getting elected from there, I will then become PM of India," said Huccha Venkat.

At a press meet held here on Friday May 4 he said, "The Election Commission has granted me sandals as my election symbol. I applied for women's sandals, but instead got men's sandals. Sandals protect the feet. For women it will be protection from attackers. I am contesting the elections to protect the citizens, the poor and the voiceless.

"My father did a lot of charity works and taught me to do the same. My grandfather was also a well-known philanthropist in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. I have wealth granted to me by my parents, but never used it for my own need. At various times I donated it to the needy. So I hope people will vote for me because of my kindheartedness and concern for a better society.

"I never go from to door to door to beg for votes. Those who are afraid of defeat and are trying to hide illegal deals, beg for votes from voters. Other than begging for votes, they have no other means. In addition, they wow voters by offering Rs 500 and Rs 1000. Sometimes they offer liquor as well. I want to warn voters not to sell themselves to these politicians and political parties. If they do so, then these parties will sell foreigners to the voters.

"I have no regrets for those who do not cast their vote in favour of me. I am not pressurizing anyone. Consequences will show up after the results," he said.
