Chitradurga, May 4: Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is under fire from opposition parties for corruption cases against him, on Thursday, May 3 predicted that, his friend and present state BJP vice-president Sriramulu will become deputy to B S Yeddyurappa in the next BJP government.
"Sriramulu is contesting from Molakalmuru and Badami. He will come out victorious from both the constituencies by huge margin. Once results are announced, he will retain Molakalmuru seat and vacate Badami. On May 17 or 18, Yeddyurappa will take oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka in presence of Prime Minister Modi and lacs of BJP workers in Bengaluru. On the same occasion, Sriramulu will be taking oath as Deputy CM" said Reddy.
Janardhana Reddy, who was active in BJP's election campaign for few days, was forced to take a break on the advice of BJP national chief Amit Shah, after the latter came under attack for fielding eight Janardhana Reddy relatives to contest in the assembly polls. Amith Shah instructed Reddy not to appear in public rallies and not to share the stage with top BJP leaders during the campaign. However, Reddy was allowed to continue his campaign work for Sriramulu separately in Chitradurga.
It may be recalled that Supreme Court has barred Reddy from entering his former bastion Ballari.
Reddy's prediction did not go well with other top state BJP leaders. It is reported that Eshwarappa and R Ashok both aspirants of Deputy CM's post have expressed their disappointment on Reddy's statement.
