Kundapur, April 30: A news conference was held in the residence of former taluk panchayat president Deepika S Shetty here condemning the alleged propaganda against Kundapur BJP candidate Haladi Srinivas Shetty by former Belve grama panchayat president. The press conference held on Saturday, April 28 was chaired by Belve gram panchayat president Shobha Shetty.
“The statements of dissatisfaction that Haladi has not taken initiative on development are unfounded. Haladi’s supporters severely condemn them. The person who made the allegations is making false statements repeatedly for the last four years. He speaks about 94C without knowing law. He says that activists are neglected.
“Haladi in his political career spanning twenty years has not hurt any activist. We will produce documents about development. He is trying to divide the society by such allegations. He says that the party has faced setback. It only shows his political disappointment. He has no moral right to make allegations regarding the developments made by Haladi. He has misused the reservation of somebody else to obtain power when he was the grama panchayat member.
“He has said that there were 50 people in the meeting to express dissatisfaction. He has misused their ignorance. He had indulged in propaganda against BJP and MLA during the last several years. His propaganda will bring about no change in the society. All the BJP activists in Belve and Madamakki are determined to make Haladi Srinivas Shetty win and they are united. We will make Haladi win with a resounding victory. There is no confusion between our activists. Those who created confusion are drowned in it,” said supporters, well wishers and activists of Haladi Srinivas Shetty.
They have contested against BJP candidate in taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat elections last time and lost. Therefore nobody believes their talk. It is a fact that Haladi is a simple, decent and development based politician in our taluk, state and the country. He was urged to contest as independent last time. Activists, well wishers, relatives and voters have brought him back to BJP and made him the candidate. The decision is not one sided by Haladi. Entire constituency knows it. It is not fair to indulge in politics in this regard,” they said in the news conference.
S Chandrashekar Shetty, taluk panchayat member Belve said that the allegations against Haladi are false. “Those who cannot bear the respect towards Haladi are misleading the people by false information. Contesting as independent last time and now in BJP is not his unilateral decision. Haladi will have a resounding victory with people's support.”
Y Vijaya Kumar Shetty, Goliangadi, district Goraksha leader said that BJP candidate Haladi Srinivas Shetty works hard to provide justice to the people here across party lines. “He has earned their trust by humility and sincerity. The people here will elect him for more progress.”
