Mangaluru, Apr 25: Most of the candidates who have filed their nominations ahead of Karnataka Assembly polls are crorepatis in twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
The top four crorepatis in the election fray are Udupi Congress candidate Pramod Madhwaraj with assets worth Rs 78.46 crore followed by Byndoor BJP candidate Sukumar Shetty with Rs 24 crore assets, Bantwal BJP candidate Rajesh Naik with Rs 21.52 crore and Mangaluru North Congress candidate Moiden Bava with Rs. 19.6 crore.
Udupi BJP candidate Raghupati Bhat has assets worth Rs 16.02 crore, Mangaluru South BJP candidate D Vedavyas Kamath has assets worth Rs 11.07 crore, Belthangady Congress candidate K Vasanth Bangera has Rs 6.70 crore, Byndoor Congress candidate Gopala Poojary has Rs 5.15 crore, Kundapur Congress candidate Rakesh Malli has assets worth Rs 5 crore and Mangaluru BJP candidate Santhosh Kumar Rai Boliyar has Rs 3.92 crores.

Bantwal Congress candidate Ramanath Rai has assets worth Rs 3.8 crore while Moodbidri Congress candidate Abhay Chandra Jain has Rs 3.74 crore. Mangaluru South Congress candidate J R Lobo has assets worth Rs 3.45 crore, Karkala BJP candidate Sunil Kumar has assets worth Rs 2.91 crore, Puttur Congress candidate T Shakuntala Shetty has Rs 2.65 crore followed by Kaup BJP candidate Lalaji Mendon with Rs 2.39 crore assets.
Moodbidri JD(S) rebel candidate Ashwin Pereira has assets worth Rs 2.41 crore, Belthangady BJP candidate Harish Poonja has assets worth Rs 1.70 crore, Belthangady JD(S) candidate Sumathi S Hegde has assets worth Rs 2.11 crore, Kaup MLA and Congress candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake has assets worth Rs 1.44 crore, Mangaluru North BJP candidate Dr Bharath Shetty has assets worth Rs 1.91 crore, Mangaluru Congress candidate U T Khader has assets worth Rs 1.41 crore, Moodbidri JD(S) candidate Jeevan Shetty has Rs 1.30 crore worth assets followed by Sullia BJP candidate S Angara with Rs 1.12 crore worth assets.
Puttur BJP candidate Sanjeev Matandoor has assets worth Rs 79.73 lac. Karkala Congress candidate Gopala Bhandary has Rs 73.73 lac assets while Moodbidri BJP candidate Umanath Kotian has Rs 91 lac worth assets.
Karnataka assembly polls are due on May 12 and the counting will be held on May 15.
