Mangaluru, Apr 25: Expressing confidence of winning the upcoming state elections, BJP national spokesperson Sudesh Verma said that Karnataka has been handed over an excellent opportunity to be a part of the big movement led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, April 25, he said, “We are confident of gaining the upper hand with decisive majority in the upcoming elections. Karnataka now has the opportunity to vote BJP to power to be under the leadership of PM Modi. We are lucky to have Modi has our prime minister who has a broad vision of 'Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas' in which we are gaining support across the country.
“The public will exercise their franchise in the interest of the state and the country on May 12. We are confident of winning with a high majority. It will be a landslide victory like how the BJP fared in Tripura and other states. PM Modi has taken up the initiative of driving the country towards development. Schemes like ‘Krishi Sinchayi Yojana’ and ‘Fasal Bheema Yojana’ have benefitted agriculturists. ‘Mudra Yojana’, health cards to beneficiaries, job creation in private sectors, entrepreneurship development, skill development and other facilities provided by the government to has led to a happy and contended public.
“Coastal Karnataka has become famous for wrong reasons. Dozens of Hindus, RSS and BJP activists have been killed, but the district administration does not seem to be bothered. The present government is busy appeasing the minorities which is not good. The government belongs to all, not just one community. There has been cattle theft as well. Once our government comes to power, all these issues will be taken up,” he said.
State BJP spokesperson Anwar Mannipady said, "The state government has not utilized the funds meant for development of minorities. The BJP will request for votes by playing the religion card. Congress has always taken advantage of communal violence incidents. BJP has never neglected the minorities and treated everyone equally.”
Leader Monappa Bhandary and Yogesh Bhat, BJP spokesperson Sulochana Bhat and others were present.
