Mangaluru, Apr 22: Srikar Prabhu, who will be contesting as independent candidate from Mangaluru South in the upcoming Karnataka elections, on Sunday April 22 launched his campaign vehicle at Bunts Hostel here.
A former BJP leader who was expelled from party in 2014, Srikar Prabhu addressing the gathering said, "I have chalked out a strategy to win the elections. I know how to win. I am aware of the mindset of the voters. It is not easy to contest as an independent candidate but the personality of the candidate matters a lot. I am here to serve people and this is why I am contesting in this election.
"When candidates get selected in other parties, it always leads to disquiet within the party. Political system has become bad, and in order to experience this system, some candidates enter it. Political parties think people are fools. Actually they are not - voters are intelligent enough to select the right candidates," he said.
"When tickets were denied, some aspirants of a political party expressed displeasure and passed statements about it. My fight is against the extremely arrogant party. The ministers till date have no broad vision about this region. They have used their power for their own selfish motives.
"Preparation is under way in 10 phases for the upcoming elections, starting from today with the launch of this campaign vehicle. This is one of the strategies ahead of polls. My service during the last four years will play a role in the elections, which will put other candidates in trouble. I will predict the margin of my victory in the coming days," said a confident Srikar Prabhu.
Srikar Prabhu will file his nomination on April 23, after which a procession will be carried out from MCC to Bunts Hostel.
Srikar Prabhu's supporters, Suresh Shetty, Jyothi Suresh Shetty, Srinath Prabhu, R K Shastri, K P Shetty, Premachandra and others were present.
