Bengaluru, Apr 21: BJP's chief ministerial candidate and party state president B S Yeddyurappa is likely to contest against chief minister Siddaramaiah from Badami constituency if the latter decides to contest from there.
According to reports, Yeddyurappa might be asked to contest from Badami by the high command.
Sources in the BJP said that national president Amit Shah has already indicated that Yeddyurappa would be pitted against Siddaramaiah from Badami.
However, the CM's decision on contesting from Badami other than Chamundeshwari constituency is still pending and Siddaramaiah is waiting for a final call from the high command.
The BJP is also considering fielding Nayaka community leader B Sriramulu or businesman Vijay Shankeshwar who belongs to Lingayat community to contest in Badami constituency.
BJP MP Gaddigoudar's name too is doing rounds to contest from Badami.
BJP's chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa is contesting from Shikaripura for the 9th time and Siddaramaiah is contesting from Chamundeshwari constituency. Both have already filed their nomination papers from these constituencies.
