Udupi, Apr 21: Gangadhar Bhandary Birthi filed his nomination as JD(S) candidate from Udupi constituency on Friday, April 20.

Speaking to mediapersons at the old zilla panchayat office, Bannanje, Gangadhar said, “We have many plans for the development of Udupi. State JD(S) president Kumaraswamy has done many developments in his term. Udupi requires some fundamental facilities for integrated development.

“JDS will give priority to set up governmental medical college, and engineering college in Udupi. There is severe water problem. Hence, finding permanent solution for drinking water supply will be our first priority. We will work towards that in the coming days,” he said.

Gangadhar Birthi is an active leader of Savitha Samaj. He has served in various organizations and is also the trustee of famous Kacchur Nageshwar temple, Barkur.

Yogish Shetty, district president, Vasudeva, JD(S) Secretary, Khadar, Block president, Shalini Shetty Kenchanur and others were present.
