Moodbidri: Woman commits suicide - husband goes missing mysteriously

Moodbidri, Apr 12: A woman named Khairunnisa (22), wife of Aslam, ended her life in her rented home  near the society at Gantalkatte Neeralke here on Wednesday April 11.

Aslam and Khairunnisa had come here on rent about eight months back. Aslam had left for work on Wednesday morning. Owner of the house heard the baby of the couple crying inconsolably and noted that its mother was not attending. He came nearer to check what was going on, and found that Khairunnisa had ended her life by using her sari as a noose. Thereafter, he  alerted the police.

The police who arrived on the spot found that the child was crying inside the room of the house while Khairunnisa had killed herself. After the incident, Aslam was found to have gone missing and his cellphone was found to have been switched off. In view of these developments, the locals expressed suspicion about this death.  Because of this, Panambur assistant commissioner of police, Rajendra, visited the spot and  undertook scrutiny. The tahsildar arrived on the spot and performed inquest.

The couple were married four years back and they have a two-and-half year old child.
