Karkala, Apr 9: There are wide allegations by general public here that election code of conduct with regard to upcoming state elections is not being enforced.

The picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the projects of the union government are still found on the Omni van meant for publicity of prime minister’s Ujwal project which is against election code of conduct. Cans filled with diesel were also found in the vehicle.

As per the details from the vehicle driver, the owner of the vehicle is from Kadthala. He owns a gas agency and cashew factory. Diesel in cans is being supplied to the factory.

Complaints to the Election Commission had no effect.

A local had complained to the taluk office about the Omni van found in Anantashayana temple premises. But it is alleged that there was no response.

It is said that meals are served in the taluk premises here with party programmes during day and nights in the leadership of political leaders.
