I am a Hindu Vaishnav, not Jain: Amit Shah

Mumbai, Apr 6 (PTI): Amit Shah today said he is a "Hindu Vaishnav", refuting Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiahs claim that the BJP chief is a Jain.

Shah, while speaking to reporters after a rally to mark the BJPs 38th foundation day here, also said, "I maintain that the Karnataka governments move to give Lingayats a separate religion status is a move to divide the Hindus."

"The UPA government had rejected the recommendation (to give Lingayats the status of a minority group) in 2013. The present decision has only been taken to stop Yeddyurappa from becoming the CM. This is an election gimmick," Shah said.

When asked about the Karnataka chief ministers comment last month that Shah is a Jain, the BJP chief said, "I am not a Jain, but a Hindu Vaishnav."

Responding to Shahs barb that Siddaramaiah is not an AHINDA (a Kannada acronym for minorities, backward classes and Dalits) leader but AHINDU (non-Hindu) leader, the Karnataka chief minister had said last month in Mysuru that Shah should first clarify whether he himself is "AHINDU or not".

"Amit Shah is a Jain. He needs to clarify first whether he is AHINDU. Jain is a separate religion. How can he talk about me like that," Siddaramaiah had said.

Ahead of the Assembly elections, the Congress government in Karnataka on March 19 decided to recommend to the Centre that Lingayats and Veerashaiva Lingayats should get the status of religious minority.

His parent body RSS says all Hindustani's are Hindu's.
Hinduism is not a religion but way of life.
So, why depart from his own group's statement?
Is he implying they didn't they mean what they say?
If he is Jain, why he has to fear to accept the fact of life? When there
Is proclamation tolerance, why he is anticipating any threat now?

Jainism and Buddhism are different religion and their origins are not at all related to Sanatan Dharma.Jainism and Buddhism are shramnic religion while Hinduism is a Vedic religion.Jainism is an atheist religion while Hinduism is a polytheist religion. These are only just a few superficial differences,on a deep study of both religions you will come to know that there are vast differences in the ideology of both Jainism and Hinduism.

I agree that Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism share many similarities but these similarities are due to the fact that these religions have shared same society, same culture and same country since thousands of years and not because Jainism and Buddhism are part of Hinduism.

Amit Shah was born in a Jain gujrati family. Now you may ask than why he potrays himself as a Sanatan dharmi. The answer lies in the fact that he is the president of BJP which is a Hindu nationalist party and which relies on Hindu vote bank to win elections. In order to keep Hindu vote bank intact it is mandatory for him to visit Hindu temples, meet Hindu monks and talk about issues related to Hinduism. Its all about politics and nothing else.
A Brahmana (Brahmin) is one among the Vaishnavas. The difference is, a Brahmana is only one part among the whole population of Vaishnavas. There are Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras also among the Vaishnavas.
He has changed his religion in time. From Gujarati news papers to websites his pictures are available doing pooja in Jain temples.
In reality BJP has nothing to present to voters on 'development' they have promised in 2014 manifesto. So easiest way to exploit the voter is religion.
Amit Shah should be human first than pronouncing his religion.
    Jai Hind

    Early Life of Amit Shah.
Amit Shah (Amitbhai Anilchandra Shah) was born on 22 October, 1964. He was born to a wealthy Jain family in Mumbai. His father Anilchandra Shah used to run a business dealing in PVC pipes. Amit Shah completed his schooling in Mehsana and pursued his graduation in bio-chemistry from CU Shah Science College in Ahmedabad. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 14.

AMIT SHAH BORN A JAIN AND NOW HE MAY BE CONVERTED TO VAISHNAV HINDU.

RSS SHOULD SEND HIM TO GHAR-VAPSI.

Jain, Vaishnav or a Hindu - you did no good to Hinduism.

Any other true believer, irrespective of sect/cast, would have shut Al-Kabeer factories that flourished on Gujarat soil, especially while being on such a powerful political position.
