Udupi, Apr 4: Deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis in a press conference held at DC office on Tuesday, April 3 informed the measures taken for state elections and also revealed other details regarding the same.
Addressing media, she said, “Following election code of conduct, the election commission has formed flying squad, static surveillance team, and video surveillance team in each assembly constituency and appointed vigilance officers, staffs to supervise functions of the squads. Programme organizers or committees can take permission from election commission.
The DC also said that if code of conduct is being violated anywhere, public can complain over phone or write a letter to the following contact numbers. The contact numbers are as follows:

The DC also informed that voters' facilities centers have been started for voters to get additional information at all taluk offices. The contact numbers of voters' facilities centers are as follows:

The DC said, “A control room has been opened at all district commissioner office and district election office to receive complaints regarding election. The toll free number is 1077, (0820-2574802/2574360). The control rooms will operate 24*7.
“A special revision campaign 'Minchina Nondani' will be held on April 8, at all polling booths in the district. It will be open from 10 am to 5.30 pm. BLOs will be present at respective polling booths.
“Applications will be received regarding correction of voters' name, enrollment of names to voters' list and deletion. April 14 is the last date for adding new names to the voters’ list,” she said.
DC Priyanka urged eligible voters to make use of the benefits. The code of conduct will not be applicable for displaying photos of expired politicians at public places.
She further said, “A Jatha programme is being organized by district college students on April 5 to raise awareness among people on importance of voting. A special invitation was made on postcards to raise awareness in low voter turnout areas, which will be delivered to all families of the area by the concerned panchayats at the doorstep. A team will visit Koraga community areas in a bid to increase their number of voters. A squad is set up for creating awareness about voting among physically challenged people,” she said.
SP Laxman B Nimbargi said, “There are 29 cases filed under excise in terms of illegal transportation of liquor and bars opened at odd timings. Three FIRs have been registered at Kota police station limits, town police station and also for opening of new Anganvadi.
“The six bars' licenses have been cancelled for violating code of conduct under CL2 and CL9. Liquor worth of Rs 99,435 has been seized,” the SP informed.
