Hejamady: Vijaya College Student Renvick Aranha (20) Meets Watery Grave

Udupi, Aug 26: A student who ventured into Shambhavi river at Hejmady Swamil Kudru on Monday, August 25, drowned and lost his life.

The deceased has been identified as Renvik Aranha (20), son of a localite Claudy Aranha, studying at Mulky Vijaya Colege. His mother Jenifer Aranha is employed in Israel. He is the brother of Renita and Rithesh. He was staying with his grandmother at Swamil Kudru. The tragedy occured when he along with his friends, was bathing in the river.

A team of fishermen has been searching for the body of the drowned student. A case has been registered at Padubidri police station. The locals have expressed their anguish at the apathy of the fire brigade, which did not arrive promptly after being informed of the incident.
