Kundapur, Mar 26: "During my 35-year tenure in politics, I have never seen a government that is so much immersed in corruption. This Karnataka government, which has been giving anti-people governance and maladministration, needs to be rooted out. BJP workers should not rest till they achieve this objective," said union minister for communication and information technology, Manoj Sinha.
He was speaking at a meeting of booth level BJP workers from Byndoor assembly constituency, at a programme organized at Mookambika hall at Kollur on Sunday March 25.
"The entire world is watching the Narendra Modi-led government in India, which has been voted to power with absolute majority after a gap of 30 years. Efforts should be made to bring people from all classes of the society into the party. We have to take initiatives to strengthen the party at every booth level. Results of north-east states have shown that with unity, success can be achieved. We should make sure that similar tasks are undertaken in Karnataka state too towards defeating Congress party. I have so far travelled in three assembly constituencies here, and our party received good response there. The Karnataka state result should be the guiding light for all future elections," he asserted.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa, said that the people of Karnataka have made up their minds to unseat Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the state that has looted the treasury of the country because of its disastrous administration. "Congress plundered the country, Siddaramaiah the state. Farmers are ending their lives. Innocents are being murdered and looted or facing atrocities. Corruption is rampant. Castes are being created and division of people is being engineered. Hinduism happens to be a religion that is emotionally integrated. Congress leaders have broken the religion and doing injustice to it. People will give a befitting reply to Congress leaders in the coming election," he added.
BJP Udupi district president, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, presided. BJP state Mahila Morcha president, Barati Shetty, secretary, Sujata Patil, divison in-charge, Kediyoor Uday Kumar Shetty, BJP state secretary,Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, and others were present.
