Mangaluru, Mar 26: Pranavi Devadiga is just two-year old innocent girl. Unlike the children of her age who play all the time, Pranavi needs to visit hospital four to five times every month to undergo agonizing chemotherapy, as she suffers from dreaded Leukemia. Friends Ballalbagh Biruver Kudla has come to her rescue by extending financial assistance, as the parents of the girl are financially not strong enough to meet her treatment needs. The organization extended financial help of one lac rupees to this family, and parents of the girl, Jagadish and Nishalata Devadiga, accepted the aid.
City crime branch inspector, Shantaram Kunder, who handed over the cheque to the family on behalf of Biruvuer Kudla, praised the organization for its achievements which he described as historic. He said that the organization has become a model for others to emulate, by distributing help worth over Rs 60 lac during the last three years, for educational, treatment, and other needs. He noted that the organization, under the leadership of its founder president, Uday Poojary, has been wiping tears out of the eyes of the suffering.
Immediate past city mayor, Kavitha Sanil, said that the organization deserves all accolades for helping people from all castes, religions and faiths. She hailed it for the humanitarian concern it has shown towards fellow human beings, and promised to join hands with it in the coming days.
