Mangalore: Dr Alva Promises Beary Conference on Nudisiri Premises Soon

Mangalore, Aug 22: Dr M Mohan Alva, president, Alva's Foundation, Moodbidri, announced that there will be a  one-day Beary literature conference on Nudisiri premises this year, aimed at promoting the regional language and its culture.

"Regional languages and their rich culture are vanishing after being buffeted by globalization. It is our duty to protect each regional language around us to ensure a peaceful society," he said. Dr Alva was speaking after inaugurating 'Beary Nasihath Majlis' an entertainment programme at the Town Hall here on Friday, August 22.

N A Haris, MLA, Shantinagar, Bangalore, released the book 'Kotthippu', authored by renowned Beary poet and singer Basheer Ahmad Keenya. Harikrishna Punaroor, former president, Karnataka Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Muhammad Badruddin, member, KPCC, M B Abdurrahman, Basheer Baikampady, B S Muhammad, Abdul Azeez Baikampady and G A Bava, were present on the occasion.
 
The programme was organized by Capman Media Makers, Mangalore. Abdul Rouf Puthige, founder president, Talent Research Foundation, inaugurated the cultural evening. Poet Muhammad Baddor spoke about 'majlis', on the occasion. Hussain Katipalla welcomed and Umar U H proposed vote of thanks. Abdul Basith recited the Quran.
