Belur MLA Rudresh Gowda dies of multiple organ failure


Hassan, Mar 24 (DHNS): Congress MLA from Belur constituency Y N Rudresh Gowda (63) died of multiple organ failure at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Rudresh Gowda was hospitalised a few days back after he developed sudden health complications. Because of his illness, he did not cast his vote in Rajya Sabha elections on Friday.

A two-time MLA from Belur constituency in Hassan district, Rudresh Gowda was elected to Lok Sabha from Hassan on the Janata Dal ticket in 1996.

Rudresh Gowda, an LLB graduate, entered active politics by getting elected as ZP member from Nagenahalli constituency in 1986. He was later elected as the president of Hassan ZP.

The mortal remains of Rudresh Gowda have been kept for public viewing at Hassan DCC office.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter and 10 siblings.
