Bengaluru, Mar 22: BJP national president Amit Shah will be undertaking a two-day tour of Karnataka beginning March 26. During this visit, he is scheduled to visit several Maths including Siddaganga Math at Tumakuru.
Amit Shah had visited poll-bound Karnataka in February also.
The visit of Shah gains significance in view of the fact that he has fixed March 26 as the date for meeting Dr Shivakumara Swamijii of Siddaganga Math, at a time when the Congress government in the state has taken a controversial decision to recommend classification of Lingayat as separate religion to the central government.
On these two days, Amit Shah will take part in various programmes of the party. He will also visit Bekkinakalmatha in Shivamogga, Murugha Math in Chitradurga, Madar Chennayya Math, and Sirigere Math to seek blessings from the heads of these Maths.
He will also hold interaction with coconut growers at Tiptur on March 26, and with areca nut growers at Thirthahalli. He will take part in the convention of scheduled tribes being held on March 27 at Challakere. Party sources said that Shah will also take part in the 'Mushti Dhanya' campaign being held at Doddabati in Davabagere district the same day where meeting of farmers will be held.
