Mangaluru: MCC standing committee elections - Praveen Chandra Alva heads town planning

Mangaluru, Mar 20: During the MCC standing committee elections held on Monday, March 19, Praveen Chandra Alva was appointed as president of town planning and improvement standing committee, Latha Salian was appointed president of accounts standing committee, Radhakrishna was appointed president of taxation, finance and appeals standing committee and Naveen D'Souza appointed as  public health, social justice standing committee?. 

The MCC standing committee election was held in the presence of mayor Bhaskar Moily at Mangaluru City Corporation.



Newly-elected president of town planning and improvement standing committee Praveen Chandra Alva said, "After receiving the charge of town planning and improvement standing committee, I will work for the overall development of the wards under MCC limits. Putting up streets lights wherever required, upgrading market and developing parks will be on focus. It is the blessing of people and support of Congress leaders that I have been appointed as the president of standing committee at a young age."

President of taxation, finance and appeals standing committee Radhakrishna said, "I will ensure ease of filing taxes for public. MCC is a local body to facilitate better governance for local people. Those who have not paid tax for several years need to cooperate."

Youth Congress president Mithun Rai, Merill Rego, Youth Congress ward president Sunil Kumar Thandolige and other Congress leaders were present.
