Bengaluru, Mar 19: A BJP Yuva Morcha vice-president from Bengaluru has been arrested on charges of attacking cops who had raided a gambling den here on Sunday, March 18.
The arrested has been identified as Sandeep from Varthur. He has been booked under section 149 of IPC. He is said to be close to Mahadevapura BJP MLA Arvind Limbavali.
According to the BJP leader R Ashok, Sandeep has been suspended from the party.
It may be recalled that on Sunday March 18, a police team led by Basappa Ganegara, Sharanabasappa had raided the gambling den near Siddapur. The gamblers including the BJP leader who were in inebriated state attacked the police in broad daylight.
Already four persons Kumar, Murthy, Murali Mohan have been arrested including Sandeep. The cops have launched manhunt for the rest of the accused who are absconding.
