Kundapur, Mar 19: “A fistful of grains campaign is being held in every village in the state as per aspirations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to recollect the projects given to farmers during the days when B S Yeddyurappa was the chief minister of the state. It is intended to create a fusion of the sentiments between farmers and Yeddyurappa through the programme,” said Udupi Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.
She was speaking in Musti dhanya sangraha’ (collection of fistful of grains) programme held by BJP and Raitha Morcha, Kundapur vidhan sabha constituency at the residence of Katkere, Koteshwar based entrepreneur Pramananda Shetty.
“Programmes for all groups of people including women were implemented during BJP rule. BJP will come back to power again in the state. We have decided to continue all those programmes and lend loans to farmers and women of self-help groups at zero percent interest. Attempts will be made to open an ESI hospital to help labour class in Udupi district,” she said.
Member of Lok Sabha and Udupi district Vidhan Sabha constituency BJP in charge Ganesh Singh said that the Modi led government at the center is providing pro people rule without any scams. “Congress government in Karnataka is following anti people policy with corruption. A fistful of grain programme fuses with sentiments all group of people in the society. The statue of Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel in Gujarat is the largest statue in the world. Everybody in the country was allowed to take part in its preparation. The salt movement by Mahatma Gandhi during freedom movement was able to unite the countrymen by their feelings. The present fistful of grain movement as per the aspirations of the prime minister will also unite the people,” he said.
Former MLA Haladi Srinivasa Shetty, Udayakumar Shetty, Sulochana Bhat, Suresh Shetty, Sadananda Balkur and Suprasad Shetty were present.
Shobha Karandlaje and Ganesh Singh received a fistful of grains from entrepreneur Premananda Shetty to start with.
