Karnataka polls will be 'secularism vs communalism' contest - Siddaramaiah

New Delhi, Mar 17 (DHNS): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said the state Assembly elections will see a 'secularism versus communalism' contest and the Congress will emerge victorious.

He also said the poll results will work as a 'stepping stone' for the 2019 general elections.

The chief minister was speaking at the Congress' plenary session here ahead of the Karnataka polls, the dates for which are yet to be announced.

"No one can stop Rahul Gandhi (Congress president) from becoming the country's prime minister after the next general polls," Siddaramaiah said.

"It is going to be a secularism versus communalism contest (in Karnataka). The Congress is confident that under Rahulji's leadership, we will come back to power with a thumping majority in Karnataka. It will be a big boost and work as a stepping stone for the coming Parliamentary elections," he said.

The greater part of Siddaramaiah's speech was on the welfare programmes undertaken in Karnataka.

Campaign for the upcoming Karnataka election is already underway with national leaders of the Congress and BJP canvassing in the state.

The H D Deve Gowda-led JD(S) is the other major party contesting the elections.

The elections in Karnataka are not only between "Secularism vs Communalism" It is also between "Stability VS Chaos" It is also between " Peace VS Communal Riots. It is also between : Harmony vs Dosorder" It is also between " Brotherhood vs enmity. The choice is for the people of Karnataka.

We should take the lead for South India and clear our region of all divisive forces that are threatning the unity and integrity of our Beloved Country. Jai Hind. Jai Karnataka.

BJP have given the most corrupt government in the history of Karnataka and those same corruption tainted BJP leaders are contesting again. What a shame !
With Congress's CM Siddu there will be rule of the secular, smart, sensible for Inclusive development, social equality and liberty.
With BJP's Yeddy there will be rule of the communal, corrupt, liar, stupid policy makers bringing in economic disaster, division on religious and caste lines, communal chaos and disharmony.

Theres a mistake here looks like . Its probably between Corruption and Communanism . JDS is the hope and considered secular here . Unfortunately Congress is routed across country and its candidates are losing deposits almost all places . In the absence of suitable opposition or 3Rd Front People themselves are statewise chosing secular Parties like TMC,CPM,AAP ,SP,BSP Etc by keeping away BJP/Congress.. Rahul Is roaming Around Karnataka and keeping no stone unturned . Rahul Has no agenda .Only critising Modi Cannot Be The Agenda Congress leaders Have done nothing For Karnataka. Their Central leaders have Not Directed the party In The Right Direction. For siddu its a must win battle and thats why they are introducing nonproductive schemes when election is nearing . Congress Is not effectively exposing BJP for whatever reasons best known To them. There are so many Issues currently to expose Bjp but No action from Principle opposition congress. In coming Days More Leaders may Desert Congress as The hope is dimming day by day. There Are young dynamic leaders in congress whose caliber is not used

Be practical in your views. If all the secular forces in Karnataka join together make adjustment in seat sharing then communal BJP will get only 2 or 3 seats in coming assembly election.

    Sir,
Please concentrate on your Maharashtra politics, don't worry about Karnataka, Voters of Karnataka will decide , they are smart & matured enough.

Dear CM Siddaramaiah, You have again fell to BJP trap. The entire BJP leadership come and go from North India just to give communal speeches to deflect the attention from real issues and development the Karnataka state has achived.
The BJP don't want Congress to talk about development or its own failure. So the easy arsenal in BJP is raise communal card.
For Kannadigas sake, next assembly elections in Karnataka will be between 'Real development vs Fake development' or 'Karnataka Model vs Gujarat Model'.
In Karnataka maximum number of Kannadigas regardless of faith is secular. Only one party BJP which has its deep rooted connection with RSS only talks about communalism.
My sensible advice to you don't fall in BJP's trap. Learn something from Mr.Lalu Prasad who has outsmarted RSS despite free volunteers working free of cost.
    Jai Hind

..if any one watch closely they will realise that BJP who was accused as communal always did pure secular works when elected to Govt (disappointing its hard core voters, even MODI didnt do anything for his hardcore vote base), while Con###s which project itself a secular always end up doing communal works or create distrust among communities by their style of works when they form govt..

When there are press statements from Siddu, some people react as if snake runs on them. Apart from Secular slogan...present Congress government has done lot of good to the state. On those merits Congress will get clear majority. BJP is showcasing only Modi in Karnataka as if he is going to be the state CM..apart from Modi who else is speaking in BJP? What a bad state of BJP. What BJP has achieved in the Center for the last 4 years?

This what you are doing from last 4 years dividing people in the name of cast and religion to gain personal gain.Always behind uplift of other community making yourself communal-ism and asking other to follow secularism. Now even started politics in the name of school by stopping aide to daily meal scheme to kaladka school but to appease other giving aide more than 80 crore from temple income. This time sure people will sure make congress to loose their own ground by giving statement to bring all mutta under government and it,s like putting your own hand inside bees nest.

there is no value for words like "secularism" & "communalism". there are so many schemes in the name of caste/religion. then what is secularism? in govt schemes everywhere you people ask the caste/religion of the people then what is that secularism? your govt only initiated veerashaiva lingayath religion issue. so don't fool the people.

you are actually communalism but act like secularism . Giving bhagyas and withdrawing criminal cases against particular community will prove you that you are communal.
so your party will be defeated in coming election that is for sure.
