Mangaluru, Mar 16: "Cancer is the number one priority among non-communicable diseases in Congo. We were impressed with Dr Suresh Rao's presentation at International Healthcare Tourism Congress organised by CIM Global and I thank them for hosting me for the same which gave me an opportunity to directly interact with leading Indian
healthcare providers. Further, I came to Mangalore today with a specific purpose to see the facility and consider opportunities to collaborate," stated Singa Jiguel, representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Democratic Republic of Congo (West Africa).

"We are impressed with MIO's state of the art facility, speed at which patients are treated here compared to other cancer centers of India, and dedication of their Doctors and staff. I think we have found a very good partner in MIO to wage our war on cancer," said Singa Jiguel.

" Singa's visit to MIO is strategic and happy to record this as a tangible outcome for participating in the international healthcare tourism congress which hosted 150 of such delegates from 20 countries. We look forward to share our treatment and training expertise with Congo and help them win over cancer," shared Suresh Rao, director and Ananthkrishna, president and CEO, Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO).

"Congo is the second country visiting Mangaluru since last Sunday's Kenya delegation visit. This is exciting progress within 6 months of constituting Mangalore Health Tourism Task Force to develop Mangalore as a global health tourism destination. This was possible due to strategic relationship of our task force member CIM Global with Congo and willingness of Mangalore Institute of Oncology to extend support," observed Sanjay Bhat, facilitator Mangalore Heath Tourism Task Force, and founder, Mindful Consulting, Mangaluru.
