Karkala, Mar 15: The police raided a house in Halekatte in Kalya village in the taluk and seized ganja stocked in a house there on Wednesday March 14. 2.52 kg of ganja was found in the said house, the value of which is said to be Rs 75,000.
Two persons, Safiqvuddin (40) and Santosh Kumar Singh (26), both from Salepura in Cuttack district, Odisha, were arrested in this connection. The drug was found to have been stocked in a room located in a building owned by Nagesh Poojary. Reportedly, the accused used to sell ganja to college students.
The raid was conducted by the personnel of district crime intelligence bureau of Udupi district under the guidance of assistant superintendent of police, Rishikesh Sonawamne, and directions of district superintendent of police, Laxman Nimbargi and additional superintendent of polcie, Kumarchandra.
