Mangaluru, Mar 15: CCB police arrested the accomplice of underworld don Kali Yogesh who was absconding after indulging in several crimes in the city.
CCB police team under the leadership of police inspector Shantaram were on the lookout for the accomplices of Kali Yogesh who had indulged in recent shootout incidents follwing directions from Yogesh.
The arrested is Mohammed Hanif also known as Mohammed Ali alias Munna (35), resident of Paivalike gram, Sunkadakatte, Kasargod.
He had indulged in a shootout incident at a textile shop, Car Street, Mangaluru north police station limits in December 2017.
It is learnt that he was in direct contact with Kali Yogesh. Cases of thefts in Dakshina Kannada, threats to kill in Manjeshwar, attempts to murder for Hafta in Kumble, attempts to murder at Vidyanagar, conspiracy for theft in Konaje, attempts to kill by shooting in Ullal, possession of illegal weapons case in Vitla, threatening and attempt to kill in Puttur and two other cases in Barke police station are pending against him.
He had been absconding after getting released on bail. The court had released a warrant against him. A case of threatening for Hafta after being released on bail was registered against him in Kumble police station.
Out of complaints registered against him in Kerala, the court there had also released a warrant as he was absconding.
CCB police inspector Shantaram, PSI Shamsunder, Kabbalraj and staff took part in the operation.
