Ramanagara, Mar 15 (DHNS): Three local JD(S) leaders, including a Magadi Town Municipal Council member, were injured after they were attacked by the Congress party workers during wee hours of Wednesday. The attack took place over certain remarks on WhatsApp messages, said the police.
The victims, K V Balaraghu, Hosahalli Muniraju and Javaregowda, have been admitted to KIMS, Bengaluru. The condition of Balaraghu, the TMC member, is stated to be serious, added the police.
The incident occurred around 1.30 am when the trio was returning home after watching a play.

H J Purushottam, B P Manjunath, Kiran and Narasimha Murthy, the Congress party workers, had an argument over WhatsApp messages regarding personal abuses and attacked the trio, said the police. On being informed ZP member A Manjunath rushed to the spot and shifted them to the hospital. Meanwhile, Arya Vaishya Mandali members closed down shops as a mark of protest against the attack on Balaraghu and took out a procession in the town on Wednesday. Mandali president S G Ramesh sought action against the attackers of Arya Vaishya community leader Balaraghu.
Complaints and counter complaints have been lodged against each other by the Congress and the JD(S) workers with Magadi police. The police have registered four cases in connection with the incident.
