Udupi, Mar 13: A meeting under the leadership of former union minister and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes took place at Brahmagiri Congress Bhavan on March 12 to discuss the blue print of programmes to be held in Kaup on March 20, when Congress national president Rahul Gandhi will travel to Mangaluru via Kaup.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in the coastal district for the first time after assuming office of the Congress national president. He will participate in the road show via Kaup, Padubidri, Mulki and Surathkal and a mass gathering in Nehru maidan, Mangaluru. Oscar Fernandes asked block presidents to take initiative so that activists take part in large numbers in the mass conference at Nehru Maidan. More than a lac activists are expected to take part in the programme.
Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Kaup will inaugurate Rajiv Gandhi National Academy of Political Education complex and take part in discussions with Congress Sevadal activists and party leaders. He will later participate in the road show on national higway, Padubidri with thousands of activists before proceeding to Mangaluru for the conference at 6 pm.
