Udupi, Mar 13: Former MLA and Congress leader, U R Sabhapathi, said that vested interests have been spreading fake rumour through WhatsApp messages about him having made allegations of corruption against the district in-charge minister, Pramod Madhwaraj.
"I have met head of cyber cell of the town police station here, Seetharam, and filed a complaint. The ulterior plan of the miscreants who have hatched this conspiracy to create differences between me and Pramod Madhwaraj and to indulge in malicious propaganda, needs to be condemned in strongest words," he stated.

Sabhapathi said that Madhwaraj's functioning style has ensured strong support of the people for him, in view of his efficient functioning style as a minister without allowing corruption to play a role. Some people, who are unable to appreciate his popularity and clean administration, and who have been struggling in their bid to field a suitable candidate against him in the assembly election have indulged in this game out of frustration, he stated. He added that these rumours and charges are totally untrue.
He also said he is happy with Pramod Madhwaraj as next MLA candidate and he made way for Madhwaraj in the last elections, even though he was allotted B form.
He blamed opposition parties for spreading the wrong news through social media.
