Mangaluru: White Doves gives new lease of life to destitute, reunites him with family

Media release

Mangaluru, Mar 13: It was on June 21 last year, White Doves received a call from some auto rickshaw drivers at the Mangaluru Railway Station that a naked man was hiding inside the Canara Bank ATM kiosk near the railway station and any amount of coaxing him to wear clothes was not yielding any result nor was he cooperating. And that people were afraid to enter the kiosk.

White Doves founder and president Corrine Rasquinha along with her team rushed to the spot and found the man without clothes and not in his right mind.

They then clothed him and took him to the White Doves Home. On giving him a bath and grooming him, they realized that he had a fractured arm and got him admitted to Wenlock Hospital and got his hand fixed.

After months of treatment for his mental imbalance at KMC Attavar, he revealed his name as Manu Raman Nail and said he had money, fixed deposits, house and property in Kottayam in Kerala. He said he was in jail because he with his mental imbalance pushed his mother who unfortunately died. He could not recollect how he reached Mangaluru.

With the details he gave, White Doves contacted his family in Kerala namely his brother-in-law P S Raju, an army man.

The reunion was arranged after three months of contacting P S Raju.

Manu R is now a repentant, changed man.

This is the 136th reunification of a destitute found on the streets of Mangaluru by White Doves with the family.

Once again, it is our pleasure to have Mrs. Corrine Rasquinha and her White Doves in the news. You took immense trouble in putting back this gentleman back on his foot and family who was considered as a homeless youth even though he had all the wealth back home in Kerala but you gave him a new lease of life. Thanks a million for all you have done for him and also others in the past. Manu Raman Nail, you are lucky to this that find these people and also the auto driver who located you at the right time and the right place.

What a kind deed... Corine Rasquinha and her team should be called not WHITE DOVES BUT INDEED WHITE ANGELS. Hope the Government takes notice of the WHITE ANGELS and funds them amply for them to continue their good work.
