Bengaluru, Mar 10: AICC general secretary B K Hariprasad has termed BJP leaders to be 'offspring' of Nathuram Godse, the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
He also alleged that Tejraj Sharma, the man who stabbed Lokayukta P Vishwanatha Shetty, suffers from a 'BJP mindset' which is spreading fast throughout the country and should be stopped before it influences Karnataka.
Addressing the media, Hariprasad who is also a member of the Rajya Sabha, lashed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for mocking chief minister Siddaramaiah’s government as 'Seedha Rupaiya' (money first).
Challenging Amit Shah for an 'open debate', he said that when Gujarat model of development is compared to Karnataka model of development, the Congress-ruled Karnataka is at least 100 years ahead.
"BJP makes fun of Siddaramaiah as they cannot tolerate the growth of a backward classes leader from a remote village, becoming a chief minister," he said and also criticized union minister Anantkumar Hegde for his agitating speeches.
"Corruption charges against Ashok Kheny and Anand Singh are not proved and are pending in the courts. The party has not given them leadership positions," defended Hariprasad when questioned about the induction of these controversial leaders in the party.
Reacting to BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa's demand for President's rule in Karnataka, he said that was a desperate tactic of BJP to indirectly take administrative powers of the state in their hands to gain mileage in the upcoming elections. Yeddyurappa should remember that people have not forgotten, how the law-and-order situation turned worse when he was the Karnataka chief minister, he said.
