Bengaluru Mar 10 (DHNS): The High Court of Karnataka on Friday directed the Union and state governments and the national and state minorities commissions to file their statement of objections in a petition related to separate religion tag for the Lingayat faith.
A division bench of Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Sunil Dutt Yadav was hearing a batch of petitions challenging the authority of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission to constitute an expert panel on the issue.
