Mysuru, Mar 9: The daughter of a MLA, who had filed missing complaint about his daughter on Wednesday, surfaced in social website after marrying a Kannada movie producer, P Sundar Gowda, at a secret spot. She also succeeded in hoodwinking two police teams which were formed to find her out.
MLA representing Mayakonda constituency, Shivamurthy Naik, had registered a complaint in New Town station, Yelahanka Bengaluru on Wednesday March 7, saying that his daughter had gone missing. The police immediately formed two teams for searching her. In the meanwhile, Shivamurthy's daughter, Lakshmi Naik, married producer of Kannada film, 'Mastigudi', P Sundar Gowda, on Thursday, and thereby lent a new twist to the case.
The said producer and MLA's daughter were in love with each other since the last seven months, it is learnt. They had planned to visit Adichunchanagiri on Thursday for solemnizing their relationship. After they came to know that the police were hot on their trail, they went to Mysuru and got married. There are rumours that they married at Chamundi hills.
The relatives of the groom had arrived at a private hotel at Hinakal here on Wednesday evening and hired four rooms there. After the marriage on Thursday, Sundar and Lakshmi left for an undisclosed destination, while the relatives returned to the hotel.
The police raided the said hotel on Thursday morning. They checked CCTV camera footage but pictures of Sundar and Lakshmi were not captured there. They sealed the hotel and questioned relatives of the groom. They also instructed them not to leave the hotel till they obtain statement from the MLA's daughter. But the police could not find out the location of the newly-weds, it is learnt.
Lakshmi Naik, through a selfie video clip posted in social website, said that she is a major and had married as per her own accord. She wished that others will not face problem because of her and her husband, duly assuring that the concerned that she would be living happily. On the basis of this, the police allowed relatives of Sundar Gowda to leave the hotel by 4.30 pm on Thursday.
