Mangaluru, Mar 8: Accusing the state government of trying to book innocent Hindu activists in the murder case of veteran journalist, Gauri Lankesh, a protest was organized in front of the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district here on Wednesday March 7. Chandra Mogera, coordinator of the Union of Hindu Organisations, addressed the protesters.
The organisation said in its letter addressed to the state governor that the special investigation team entrusted with the task of probing Gauri Lankesh's murder has failed to carry out its task judiciously. It noted that many innocents were arrested in Malegaon bomb explosion case and were released later for want of evidence.
The self-styled secularists have been making anti-Hindu statements and levelling charges against Hindu organizations. Leftists began to accuse Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bajrang Dal, Hindu Janajgruti Samiti, Sanatana Samstha etc from the very day on which Gauri was murdered. The special investigation team which failed to act during the last seven months, suddenly has been claiming that HIndu organizations are involved in the crime. This looks like a conspiracy to book innocent Hindu activists, and the report presented by Digvijaya TV in this connection has been compromising with the image of the police, it said.
Dayanand Volachil, Lokesh Kuthar, Sathish K, president of Tulunadu Mahila Sangha, Jyothi, Dharmendra of Hindu Maha Sabha, Prabhakar Naik of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Ramesh Nayak, Upendra Acharya, and others were present.
