Mangaluru, Mar 7: Former MLC Monappa Bhandary on Wednesday March 7 condemned state government and BBMP for allotting Rs 20 crore for the development of Arabic college located at Sarvajna Nagar.
Addressing reporters, Monappa Bhandary said, “Several government schools and colleges in the state are in pathetic condition but state government is not taking any step to improve the condition of the schools and colleges which are in pathetic condition.”
Accusing the appeasement politics, he said, “State government is appeasing only one section of the society. This is vote bank politics and injustice. On the other hand state government has withdrawn financial grant, given to the Kollur Mookambika Temple; two government-aided private schools managed by Sri Rama Vidyakendra Trust claiming that there is no such provision in the law. Is there any provision in the law to provide funds to Arabic colleges?,” he questioned.
He also said, “Congress has been accusing BJP’s involvement in differentiating between caste and religion triggering violence; but Congress is the one who tried to form different religion between Veerashaivas and Lingayats.”
Monappa Bhandary further said, “Mangaluru north MLA Mohiudeen Bava organized a harmony walk named ‘Shasakara Bavara Nade - Samarasya Kade’. He also announced that he will distribute books with his image and sarees on the eve of his birthday. This is nothing but a political gimmick, as election is round the corner there is no such provision for distribution just to appease the voters. We will complain this to deputy commissioner and election commission.”
“There has been complete failure of law and order in the state and no one feels safe. We organized Janasuraksha Yatra to create awareness among people. Lokayukta organisation has been destroyed by the state government and today Lokayukta justice was stabbed. Chief minister Siddaramaiah and home minister Ramalinga Reddy are responsible for the failure of law and order in the state and both should resign,” said Monappa Bhandary.
